Lingambudhi lake is a perennial freshwater lake located in city of Mysore. Lingambudhi stands first in terms of richness entirely due to its location bordering growing city. The water body is situated in Sriramapura, at a distance of around 8 km from the city center. The lake has a beautiful lush green park beside it and the entire sight that is presented is one that sooths the mind and soul. Lake was once considered as the flying highway of winter migratory birds. The Lingambudhi Lake is a unique spot that offers the pleasure of watching a variety of butterflies. The lake has been found to attract all the five families of butterflies. According to the study over the decades 107 species of butterflies has been found.
